Tablet Based ECG – Basic Troubleshooting
If ECG is showing LEAD OFF
There is a drop down on the right side of screen. Go to this drop down and change to 12 lead view
· If the RL lead is off the trace will show blips then a 1.4sec gap then blips then 1.4 sec gap etc
· If the RA lead is off there will be no traces showing at all
· If the LA lead is off there will be only 1 trace
· If the LL lead is off there will be no traces showing at all.
If the ECG fails to show any lines on screen here are steps to try:
· Disconnect RA, RL, LL, and LA from the patient.
· Disconnect the alligator clips from these leads.
· Cross all 4 of the exposed plugs – You should get a “flat line” ECG.
· This has now proved the ECG is working and communicating to the computer.
· Twist the leads where they connect to the alligator clips
- Next step is to replace all the electrodes on the patient with new ones.
· ECG should now run.
