Best Practice does not connect to the server

This is normally caused by one of two things:

1.       Are you connected to the network? To test this try going on the Internet. If you are connected try below.

2.       Click on the start button then click in the box that appears just above the start button. In that box type REGEDIT and hit enter. This will open up a Registry Editor window. On the left side look for HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE. Expand that and find SOFTWARE. Expand that and find Best Practice Software. Expand that and find Best Practice. Expand that and find Database. Click on Database and look on the RIGHT side see what is in SERVER - It should say culburra1, basinview1, vincentia1 or bpserver depending on where you are. If it doesn’t then double click on server and change it.

3.       Leave the REGISTRY EDITOR window open and try and connect to BP. Does it work? If yes close the REGISTRY EDITOR and continue with BP. If No try below

4.       In the REGISTRY EDITOR on the left side look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

All should work now.
